We appreciate your interest in the lives of these young women.
All funds will be used directly for those students attending Shadow Girls Academy. The most immediate needs include a generator so the young women can study at nighttime; academic scholarships for students whose families simply cannot afford basic educational materials; and school supplies for the academy such as maps and dictionaries.
AN INVITATION-
Arriving amongst the lush basins and pristine foothills of Hunza Valley several months ago, I met a group of amazing girls at an academy in a small village who would change my life. The girls were determined to learn, their smiles melted hearts, and their innocence humbled even the hardest of hearts. I knew this was where I belonged.
Today, this incredible set of young women needs your help to chase their dreams. They are the future engineers, pilots, politicians, and physicians of tomorrow’s Pakistan, but only if we band together to help fulfill a dream!
The reality is that female education is frowned upon throughout much of Pakistan. Women are politically oppressed, academically deprived, and socially downtrodden. Only through your help in educating young women will this change!
A group of impassioned teachers will be returning to Shadow Girls Academy in Summer 2010 to help the young female students continue their education and realize their dreams. Please show your support by joining in one of the many efforts found on this page.
